We compost and recycle all our waste, eliminating external waste streams.

We purchase green power, the wind turbines used in local transmission, for our power sources.

We use all post consumer packaging in our cafe and catering businesses. Materials like corn and potato that are now being utilized to make plates and cups, helping us leave a lighter footprint.

We support local organic farmers and offer a variety of items from the plant kingdom that are known to sustain the land in many ways. From companion planting, to enhanced bumper crops. By adding to the variety of species grown in our local food shed, we feel a cornerstone of sustainability is met. Feeding our bodies healthy and tasty foods that are grown locally has allowed us to help lead the way in our local markets, both in Oregon and Hawaii.

Oh, did we mention our vegan wonder van runs on B80 during the summer, and B20 during the winters using the finest biodiesel in the NW.

We feel that the overall concept of a plant based diet allows us a much smaller carbon footprint, is an important discussion. It is estimated, and you can review news items in most any of our newsletters, that a whole and natural vegan lifestyle is up to a 90% less impact than a traditional western lifestyle. This is true from the way the food is grown, to how little water is needed, to how the health attained mitigates the need, at times, for modern 'medicines'.
